ADVENT WEEK ONE: HOPE

(A mid-week reflection from my heart to yours)

Advent started a few days ago, and honestly… it couldn’t have landed at a more fitting time in my life. I moved earlier this week—yet another transition in a season that has felt like one long stretch of packing, unpacking, adjusting, and trying to find my footing.

On the drive to my new temporary home, a wave of grief came out of nowhere. I felt the sadness of starting over again. Then I got irritated, then frustrated, and I finally blurted out,
“Lord, will I ever get to settle somewhere for more than a year?”
A full-blown pity party. A very justified human moment.

But in His kindness, God nudged me back to Himself—reminding me that while the roof over my head seems to change far too often for my liking, He doesn’t.
He remains steady.
He remains faithful.
He remains my constant when everything else shifts.

And that is the heartbeat of Advent’s first theme: Hope.

Not the flimsy, Instagram version of hope.
Not “I hope this works out.”
But the deep, anchored kind—the kind rooted in a God who never changes, never wavers, never loses track of His children, even when we’re packing boxes for the hundredth time.

Advent invites us to hold our reality in one hand and hope in the other.
Because biblical hope is not optimism; it’s certainty in a Person—Christ, the Light who came and the Light who is coming again.

So if you’re also in a season of in-between, transition, restlessness, or waiting… I’m right there with you. And more importantly, Jesus is right there with you.

The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light.” — Isaiah 9:2

A Note From My Work This Season

As I wrap up the busiest stretch of the year in photography, I’m so grateful for all the families—new and returning—who trusted me to tell their stories. Every session reminded me why I love what I do and why I care so deeply about creating an experience that feels thoughtful, seamless, and personal from start to finish.

Behind the scenes, I’ve been refining my processes so I can communicate with even more clarity and consistency in 2026. My heart is to serve you well—not just with beautiful images, but with honesty, helpfulness, and genuine value.

Can I Ask You Something?

As I plan for the new year, I’d love to hear from you:
What would be most helpful for me to share?
Is there a service you wish photographers offered?
A question you’ve always wanted answered?
Something educational, artistic, or practical you’d like to see from me?

Your insight means more than you know, and it helps me continue shaping this little corner of the world I get to create in.

Closing Thought for This Week of Hope

Whatever transitions you’re navigating, whatever is unsettled or uncertain—may this mid-week Advent reminder lift your eyes just enough to remember:
Christ is your constant.
Your hope.
Your steady place to land.

I’m thankful you’re here.
And I’m grateful I get to walk into this Advent season—with all its waiting, beauty, and promise—right alongside you.
